Jamie - good luck and you'll have Nick's spirit along to lift you up during those times of doubt on the course. Like you between COVID and just getting older, my running priorities have changed as well. I don't worry about the influencers anymore and figure its a great day when I'm able to simply run and finish with a smile. Do well and be well - Harold

Hi there Harold! It's very good to hear from you - been truly awhile. Hope you're keeping well. Everything changed for me since Nick's passing. Compounded by the effects of ageing, long stressful hours at work that I don't find fulfilling and the ever mindless and commercialization of the sport we love (case in point influencers given spots in races folks train so hard to qualify). My Marathoning days will soon be over unless work circumstances improve but I will continue to love huffing it out on the halves. Stay in touch and be well and happy too, Harold.

Just realize GCM is only 2 months away. I think running 63 would have put a smile on Nick’s face. But to be able to muster the strength and endurance to pull off a 1:45 and 3:50 is going to be tough. I would focus on the marathon if I were you and just treat the half as a jog. Anyways, it would indeed be quite a memorable one for sure!

For all the silly display of bravado, most likely I'll just end up on survival mode come July. I've been on 12-hour days since January and unless there's a change to that in the near future, entertaining such whims will soon be over.
